Situated at 1700m the chalet offers panoramic and uninterrupted views of The Matterhorn, Dent Blanche and the Val d’Herens. The location in the Val D’Herens is unparalleled, enjoying magical vistas of the unspoiled villages opposite.

Five bedrooms

Chalet Maridadi is a well designed family friendly self-catered chalet built over three levels. With 5 bedrooms the chalet is perfectly suited for two families and very comfortably accommodates 8 adults and 4 children. Each bedroom has its own shower or bathroom. The well equipped kitchen enables guests to feel they are fully at home.

Location

The chalet is located in the central Valais, outside the small village of Les Collons. It forms part of the extensive 4 Vallées ski area, which consists of Thyon, Veysonnaz, Nendaz and Verbier. There is a small supermarket and boulangerie in the village and all the larger supermarkets can be found in Sion and Conthey.

With around 278 snowshoeing routes to explore, the Valais offers unrivalled access to spectacular vistas and enchanting forest trails.

Trek to places inaccessible to traditional hikers and explore nature in its expansive glory.

Snowshoeing is an excellent alternative to traditional skiing or touring and a tonic for both mind and body.

Golf

Sion has a magnificent 18-hole golf course and a recently renovated Club House. It is situated in the Rhône Valley amongst the vineyards and the location is quite spectacular.

Home to the European Open, Crans Montana provides a spectacular setting to play golf in the Valais. Both Verbier and Sierre golf courses offer the golf enthusiast further opportunities to play.

Wine

The region is a paradise for wine lovers. With an average of 300 sunny days a year, the Valais is the largest wine region in Switzerland; accounting for a third of the country’s total wine production. The vineyards of the Valais extend for over 100 kilometers along the Rhône river. 

Why not arrange a walk or bike through a Vineyard followed by lunch in one of the many wineries and sample some of the varied and interesting wines?  Santé!

The Valais is a vast playground for biking enthusiasts. The diversity of trails from the mountains to the valley ensure that all bike riders are accommodated. Road and mountain bikers alike will all find their ideal terrain. Newly introduced E-bikes can tackle all bike routes and offer a pleasant alternative for scaling the heights.

Hiking in the Valais can take you to some truly breathtaking spots. There are plenty of options for all abilities, whether you are looking for challenging day hikes, an overnight trip in a Cabane, or a more leisurely ramble along one of the Bisses, there is something for everyone.

Surf the best waves in the Alps! Tucked away in the heart of the Swiss Alps, Alaïa Bay is the first wave pool of its kind in continental Europe and probably the most spectacular spot for a surf session, under the snow capped mountains.

Located in Sion, only 20 minutes from Chalet Maridadi, the project is totally unique and offers tailored experiences for everyone, from beginners to experts. An exciting addition to the Valais and one we are stoked about.

Relax

Are you wanting to relax and decompress? For those looking for a slower pace there are multiple options for enjoying time at one of the many famous thermal spas, or simply lazing by the lake at Les Isles in Sion. Or, it may be a social game of tennis you are after, in which case the newly renovated courts in Veysonnaz are just the ticket.

Kids

Les Collons and Veysonnaz offer summer day camp options for children ranging from three to seventeen years of age. New this year, Alaïa Bay in Sion are offering surf camps for those children looking to spend some time on the water.

Why not spend the Summer working from home and have the children relish some much needed time outdoors challenging themselves and living the childhood dream of  simple summer activities in the mountains.

Food

Switzerland is universally famed for cheese, wine and chocolate. A fondue, raclette or croute is a regular on any Valaisan menu. The Swiss are strong supporters of local producers and farmers, they like to serve food that is seasonal and the provenance of food and the quality is important to them.

Explore

Day trip opportunities are multiple and varied and include Montreux, Zermatt, Verbier and Evolene. Alternatively, take a trip to see the St Bernard Dogs at Martigny, play foot golf at Nax, or visit the impressive farmers market on a Friday morning in Sion. For the adrenalin junkies why not try out the new zip wires at the Dix Dam or Mont Fort? Not forgetting that Les isles is home to the Parc Aventure high ropes course.
